I was born in Kansas City and have lived there for most of my life. I grew up in a christian home and attended church each week with my family. When I was 13 years old I made the decision to give my life to Christ. John 3:16 says that “God so loved the world that he gave His only son, Jesus, and whoever will believe in Him will not perish, but will have eternal life.” In 1 John 5:13 the author writes that “these things I have written to you who believe in Jesus, the Son of God, so that you may know that you have eternal life.” The Bible is full of these promises that remind us over and over that when we place our trust in Christ to save us, that we have the guarantee of eternal life. At the age of 13 I began to understand the truth that I had made wrong choices in my life. (Romans 3:23) And because of my sin I was separated from God both now and forever. (Romans 6:23) However, God loved me enough that He made a way for me to be forgiven and that relationship to be restored. (Romans 5:8) And all that was required of me to receive this forgiveness was to ask. To believe that Jesus is God’s Son, that he died on the cross for my sins, and to ask Him to forgive me and to be the Lord of my life (Romans 10:9) So on a Wednesday night at my home, I prayed and gave my life to Christ and I now get to spend eternity with Christ in heaven. However, one of the awesome things about following Christ is not only do we have the promise of eternity in heaven, but Christ also is at work in our lives now. Since I have given my life to Christ I have seen Him moving and directing my life in so many different ways. After I graduated high school, I attended college at Southwest Baptist University in Bolivar, MO. I graduated in 2010 with a degree in Middle School Education and have been teaching students math for the past 7 years. I currently teach and coach basketball at Piper Middle School in Kansas City. I love that God has given me an opportunity every day to instruct and care for my students as they go through the various challenges of life. While I was in college I also got married to my wife, Holly. Together we have had many different ministry and missions opportunities and currently lead the college ministry at our church. We also have one son, Brayden, who is almost two years old. He is a ton of fun and constant source of energy. Through these things and so many other relationships and interactions over the last 16 years, I have seen God at work in me and am constantly reminded that Christ is worthy of trusting Him with my life.
