I was taught who God was, what he’s done, and what he’s continuing to do in my life at a very young age. At the age of nine I gave my life to him during vacation bible school. I can still remember the way I felt that night and the impact of the Holy Spirit. I continued going to church and becoming more involved in the youth programs as a young teen. While still going to church and thinking I was living in Gods will I began to get involved with the wrong crowd and fell short of the lifestyle and example the Lord wants us to show as christians. After a while I hit rock bottom and got back to the person God wanted me to be. It was at the point when I truly understood his grace and love. During that time my heart was brought back to the verse “through deep waters I am with you.” Isisah 43:2. No matter where I was and how far gone I was the Lord never left and was there in the deep hard times. I continued to live for him and he began to open doors to the thing I’m most compassionate about….the world. International missions is where my heart is at and always has been. I had the opportunity to go to Haiti for a week and the impact it had on my life and heart was incredible. After that I knew I wanted more and began to seek guidance and the Lord opened anonther door. I recently returned from serving in Nicaragua for three months. I can’t even put into worlds the way that country changed my life. I became closer to God through that experience and began to find out more about myself and what he can do through me when I least expect it. I have become in love with international missions and I’m currently seeking guidance and wisdom for the next step in my live. Hoping to serve more long term international. It’s amazing how the Lord can transform your life if you give him the ability to do it.
