My name is Kelsie and I’m 17 years old. I’ve grown up in church and been part of a family that’s always been involved in church. Growing up I have always believed in God but I was pretty much living in my parents faith and others around me. I knew all the Bible stories and I knew all about God but I didn’t really know God. My entire life I went to a church in a small town where my Grandpa was the pastor. I didn’t go to school with any of the other kids there. I always had church friends and school friends and they were never together. In seventh grade I gave my life to the Lord and I was very happy with where I was at even though it was tough not having people at school to help me daily. In eighth grade I started attending my church now and I didn’t make friends at the beginning, it was hard being the new person. I then went to church camp that summer and I made a ton of amazing new friends. I spent a lot of time with them but I wasn’t really happy where I was in life, I was falling away from God and wasn’t focused on making my faith stronger. I had so many distractions holding me back from following God and his plans for me. Sophomore year I decided it was time to make a change and do what God intended for me. I started reading my bible everyday and doing bible studies. I became friends with some awesome people who kept me on track and held me accountable. My friends at school also went to church and so I was surrounded with Jesus, loving people daily, and that made a big difference in my life. Now I’m able to share my love for Jesus with other people and not feel judged. I get to be in his word everyday and have people that help me to do so. Right now I’m working on sharing my faith and reaching out to those who are lost. I focus on bettering my faith and obeying the lord in everything I do to be an example to those around me. Thanks for reading!
