I grew up in a very Godly, Christian home. My parents and grandparents invested an incredible amount of time teaching me about God, salvation, and my need for a savior. At age 5 when I was spending some time with my grandparents, God saved me. There were a lot of theological gaps that needed to be filled in, but thankfully my family was committed to my development in the Christian faith. I feel so blessed to have been born into such an incredible, Jesus-focused family.
In high school my faith was deeply tested. My pastor and Biology teacher presented radically different worldviews. My Christian faith told me that the universe and everything in it, including my life, was a product of God’s intentional design. My biology teacher said it was all a cosmic accident. I was initially discouraged, thinking if the decision was faith vs. reason, I’d have to pick reason. Thankfully I realized that the Christian faith isn’t an unreasonable blind leap, but is rather quite reasonable. I still have questions, but I trust the author and perfecter of my faith, Jesus Christ.
