I was born in Oklahoma and grew up there and in parts of Texas. In 1980, I asked the Lord Jesus to be my Savior while on a backpacking trip in Colorado with a church youth group. I had a problem though, I didn’t fully surrender to His Lordship and was not discipled in the Bible. Consequently, it was not long before I was caught up in the sinful patterns of life again. I developed an addiction to alcohol and this deceitful desire would continue for many years. My struggle with alcohol abuse would not end until 2018 – almost ending my marriage. Thankfully, the Lord intervened and convicted me of my sin.
The Lord’s kindness led me to repentance, rescued me and restored my marriage. Karen and I sought the Lord Jesus together through Bible studies and He has continued to strengthen and guide us. Knowing my sins have been forgiven – I have peace and hope – knowing that there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus (Romans 8:1) – for He who knew no sin, became sin on my behalf, so that I might become the righteousness of God in Him (2 Corinthians 5:21). I have been rescued from my sin and born again to a living Hope in Christ Jesus (1 Peter 1:3).
“Blessed are those whose lawless deeds have been forgiven and whose sins have been covered. Blessed is the man whose sin the Lord will not take into account (Romans 4:7-8 and Psalm 32:1-2)”. Life is full of choices – Eternity has two! I would love to talk with you about knowing the eternal blessings you can have in a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
